Mission Statement

The Historical Society of the Georgia National Guard, Inc. is a non-profit organization formed in 1988 under the direction of The Adjutant General of Georgia to promote, educate and perpetuate the history of the Georgia National Guard and Militia. Membership is open to all persons interested in the military history of Georgia.

The mission of the Historical Society of the Georgia National Guard is to promote the study and preservation of this state's military history and to tell the stories of the brave men and women who created the proud heritage and traditions we honor today.

The Society collects and preserves military artifacts, photographs, papers, and other memorabilia related to the State and its service members, and promotes the study and appreciation of Georgia’s military history and the role played by this State and her veterans in every conflict in American History.
