• Anti-Tank Gun Now on Display

    The Historical Society of the Georgia National Guard installed its third piece of weaponry at Oglethorpe Armory Aug. 7, with with the help of the Georgia Army Guard, a 75mm gun, refurbished in 1940 as an anti-tank gun was mounted on a concrete pad. Cost of refurbishing the gun to its 1940s look was several thousand dollars, all donated by members of the Historical Society.



    The anti-tank weapon joins a civil war era cannon and world war I cannon on display at the Georgia Guard armory.


    The Historical Scoiety is a non-pofit organization whose mission is to maintain the heritage of the Georgia Guard.
